Mission
To be the central institution for counseling services in Sri Lanka, to prevent mental disorders, enhance mental well-being by providing personal development and therapeutic counseling services, and to enable every citizen to contribute to national development.
Objectives
Minimizing the community's vulnerability to mental disorders
To empower the poor community mentally to strengthen economic empowerment activities
To provide quality counseling services using innovations in the counseling field
To establish a formal coordination among professionals engaged in counseling services
To supervise and guide the provision of counseling services
Tasks
Conducting community awareness group counseling programs at the district and divisional secretariat levels to identify and minimize the mental health problems, mental disorders, mental illnesses and various psychosocial problems faced by individuals.
Conducting awareness group counseling programs using psychological counseling interventions to mentally empower the community.
Building mental well-being by providing quality counseling services to clients who come with mental disorders and mental problems.
Providing individual counseling services through the mobile phone counseling service.
Identifying community groups that need social sensitivity the most and conducting counseling programs to promote their mental well-being.
